According to Shen Danyang, spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce, from January to May, China’s total value of imports and exports was US$151.89 billion, an increase of 7.7% over the same period of last year. In May, the total value of China's imports and exports was 343.58 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 14.1%, and the monthly import and export volume set a new record. Shen Danyang pointed out that China’s foreign trade is steadily moving toward stability and progress. The customs statistics in June have not yet come out, but overall it is expected to maintain the good momentum in May.
