· China's car companies pay less attention to the development of transmission

The domestic new energy vehicle automatic transmission industry started late and developed rapidly, and there is still a big gap compared with international counterparts. This is the consensus of several experts interviewed by reporters recently.
Market demand promotes industrial development The domestic new energy vehicle automatic transmission industry is running ahead.
Professor Xu Xiangyang, deputy dean of School of Transportation Science and Engineering, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, said in an interview: "China's new energy vehicle automatic transmission research has just started, mainly focusing on plug-in hybrid electric automatic transmission, pure electric drive automatic transmission Two areas."
There are two modes for the research of plug-in hybrid electric automatic transmission: one mode is based on the traditional automatic transmission, and the representative enterprise is BYD and Shengrui Transmission Co., Ltd.; the other model adopts a new concept design, representing the enterprise is Keliyuan. Its automatic transmission can meet the requirements of plug-in hybrid vehicles and pure electric drive vehicles.
The pure electric vehicle automatic transmission is mostly a two-speed automatic transmission. For example, Beijing Institute of Technology has 2AMT. Beiqi New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd. cooperates with the University of Sydney to have two-speed DCT. Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics has two-speed AT. The automatic transmission of BYD Qin plug-in hybrid electric vehicle has been put on the market; the two-speed automatic transmission of pure electric vehicle is in the stage of prototype development, and has not yet officially entered the market.
Xi Junqiang pointed out: "The development of domestic new energy auto-transmissions is more relevant to national incentives. Under the impetus of national subsidy policies, pure electric vehicles have developed rapidly in recent years. Automatic transmissions are recognized as the core technology of hybrid vehicles in the industry. BYD Qin 6-speed dual clutch automatic transmission is a typical representative of domestic new energy vehicle automatic transmission."
Dr. Xue Dianlun, an associate professor at the School of Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering of Hunan University, and Dr. Zhang Yong, deputy director of the China Automotive Electronics and Electromagnetic Compatibility Standardization Committee, agreed that the new energy commercial vehicle automatic transmission industry has shown good momentum in the past two years. For example, Xi'an Shuangte Intelligent Transmission Co., Ltd., Tianjin Zhongde Transmission Co., Ltd., Suzhou Green Control Transmission Technology Co., Ltd., Wuhan Science and Technology Tongyu Xinyuan Power Co., Ltd. and Nanjing Yuebo Automotive Electronics Co., Ltd. New Energy Commercial Vehicle Automatic Transmission with AMT Mainly.
Wu Dong, Technical Director of Tianjin Zhongde Transmission Co., Ltd. said: "We have been researching and developing special transmissions for new energy vehicles since 2008. The products cover 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6-speed spur gear transmissions and single-stage and double-stage transmissions. Three-stage planetary gearbox. Currently, we sell about 5,000 new energy auto transmission AMT bodies and AMT assemblies every year. Customers include Suzhou Green Control Transmission Technology Co., Ltd., Nanjing Yuebo Automotive Electronics Co., Ltd., Shanghai Haineng Automotive Electronics Co., Ltd. Co., Ltd., Tianjin Songzheng Automotive Electronics Co., Ltd. and CSR Times Electric Vehicle Co., Ltd. and other enterprises supply supporting products."
Li Xuelong, deputy dean of Chongqing Lifan Passenger Vehicle Co., Ltd., told reporters: "Lifan new energy vehicle automatic transmission is under development."
Domestic new energy passenger cars rarely use automatic transmissions because of the low operating conditions of passenger vehicles and the slight delay in the automatic transmission industry.
Xue Dianlun and Zhang Yong are convinced that the automatic transmission products of automatic transmission companies and vehicle manufacturers such as Shengrui and Jiangrong Rongda will soon be supplied to hybrid passenger vehicles.
Compared with developed countries, what are the gaps in the research and development of China's new energy auto transmissions and their industrialization?
Xu Xiangyang replied: "China is lagging behind developed countries in terms of new energy vehicle automatic transmission concept design, software development, matching calibration technology, system integration capability, supporting system, industrialization foundation and reserves."
Xi Junqiang believes: "Many people in China do not know enough about the importance of automatic transmissions, resulting in insufficient investment in automatic transmission development in China. The gap is mainly reflected in the degree of integration, product consistency and matching optimization." To narrow these gaps, further increase is needed. Great investment in this field, continuous training of professional talents, and the need to vigorously support national policies. Only in this way can we achieve "curve overtaking".
The domestic system engineering capability is weak, lack of professional division of labor and support, lack of ontology development ability, and people's hearts are impetuous. Among its many reasons, it is particularly worth mentioning that the new energy vehicle subsidy policy allows a large number of small enterprises to produce electric vehicles. Such companies lack the ability to identify automatic transmission suppliers, and everyone is eager to get subsidies, which has led some unqualified suppliers to enter the new energy vehicle automatic transmission market. This is the unanimous view of Xue Dianlun and Zhang Yong.
To avoid the "Great Leap Forward"
Li Shengqi, secretary-general of China Automotive Automatic Transmission Innovation Alliance, said in an interview: "This year's 'two sessions', the voice of the country to lift the ban on the low-speed electric vehicle market is getting higher and higher. Some places have tried to lift the low-speed electric vehicle market by themselves. From the perspective of meeting market demand, this is a good thing. But there are also hidden concerns. The biggest worry is that almost all existing low-speed electric vehicles do not have automatic transmissions. Once they are lifted, many enterprises will flock to form a low-speed electric vehicle production campaign, or Will lead to the loss of valuable industrialization opportunities for self-owned brand automatic transmissions."
Li Shengqi suggested: "Independent brand automatic transmission enterprises and new energy automobile enterprises, especially with some low-speed electric vehicle enterprises that are in mass production, should meet the demand, upgrade level and win-win opportunities."
Xu Xiangyang suggested that the state should attach great importance to it, concentrate on the advantages of auto industry and auto parts enterprises in the auto industry, hold the power of industry, overcome key difficulties, and improve the overall research and development and manufacturing level of the industrial chain. Vehicle companies, automatic transmission enterprises and parts enterprises should strengthen cooperation and take the road of collaborative innovation with international production, learning, research and use.
Xi Junqiang said: "At present, regardless of the country or the enterprise, the focus of relevant work is basically on key components such as motors and batteries. The automatic transmission is regarded as an accessory product. This hinders the rapid development of automatic transmissions for new energy vehicles. In order to solve this problem, we must vigorously build a mature industrial chain of key components for automatic transmissions of new energy vehicles.
Xue Dianlun and Zhang Yong jointly called for: the relevant departments should organize industry experts, especially experts with industrial background in the enterprise to fully demonstrate, improve industry understanding, reach a consensus, and clarify the division of labor so as not to rush. Under the guidance of the government, associations and customer support, enterprises should strengthen horizontal cooperation. The industry chain must strengthen vertical cooperation, fully integrate industry resources, and cultivate a group of core parts and components enterprises.
