Recently, South Valve Manufacturing Co., Ltd. was selected as one of the six drafting organizations in the country drafted to participate in the national "power station valve" standard. With technological research and development driving the growth of corporate competitiveness, the company's market sales in May this year reached its historical peak in single-month sales.

The "Power Station Valve" industry standard is formulated by the National Boiler Pressure Vessel Standardization Technical Committee. Of the six industry standards drafting units screened by this committee, only two companies in our province were selected. One of them is South Valve. After the "Power Station Valve" standard is issued, it will be submitted to the National Energy Administration for approval and release to meet the needs of China's supercritical thermal power generating units on the valve manufacturing, and to promote the power station valve advocated by the National Energy Administration to "go domestically."

According to Wei Yubin, general manager of South China Valve and chief engineer, China introduced the first power station valve industry standard in 1989 and revised it in 2002. However, the first two editions are general descriptions of the goods under the contract from the perspective of facilitating trade development and they are trade standards. The industry standards that are to be drafted this time will stipulate technical standards for power station valves, and add descriptions and regulations for valve materials, structures, inspection and inspection, environmental protection, and other technical parameters on the basis of retaining existing trade standards. Its content will be expanded from more than 20 pages to more than 100 pages. Many companies have exclaimed that they have not seen such a thick power station valve standard."

Wei Yubin said that the participation in the formulation of technical standards will reflect the company’s own scientific advantages and will help the company’s competition in the future market.

Prior to this, the scientific research strength of the South Valve has already been highlighted. In May 2011, South Valve signed the joint national R&D project on the localization of key valves for ultra (super)critical thermal power units led by the National Development and Reform Commission and became the only one of the 15 companies in the province to participate in the project.

According to Wei Yubin, the development of supercritical valves for domestic thermal power units has gone through three stages: the company's independent research and development stage (the products developed in this stage are called the first type valves, the same below), and the state organizations The joint R&D phase (second type valve), and the current R&D phase that can only rely on imported third type valves. In 2010, the National Development and Reform Commission formally took the lead in organizing the localization joint development of super (super) critical thermal power units. It has been 4 years since the south valve autonomously researched and developed matched valves for super (super) critical thermal power units.

At the end of 2011, Nanfang Valve successfully delivered the prototype of the key valve of the super (super)critical thermal power unit of the domestic joint R&D project, and successfully passed the inspection and acceptance. In the following two years, the company’s market competitiveness has improved significantly and it has successfully won two of the five national power plant bidding projects: Jiangsu Jurong Power Plant and Chongqing Hechuan Power Plant Project. Right now, the South Valve is embarking on the development of the third-class valve that has the greatest technical difficulty and can only rely on imports.

During the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period, China will continue to implement the strategy of “scaling up and reducing pressure”, shutting down some old 300MW thermal power units, focusing on launching 600MW supercritical and 1000MW ultra (super) critical thermal power units, and resolutely eliminating outdated production capacity. Promote energy conservation and emission reduction. “At present, 300,000 subcritical thermal power plant manufacturers are basically operating at a loss. Six hundred thousand are capital-conserving operations, and only millions are profitable.”

Wei Yubin said that whether it is to participate in the formulation of industry standards, or the localization of ultra-super-valve research and development, is a manifestation of corporate R & D strength. Through such a series of actions, the company has opened up the high-end market for power station valves and has driven the market competitiveness of other enterprise products. In May of this year, South Valve's product orders set the highest single-month sales record.

Right now, the South Valve is trying to promote the construction of a new plant covering 39 acres and is scheduled to be put into operation within 2 years. Its products, in addition to the company's main attack on the thermal power unit supporting the valve, will also be extended to the petrochemical and nuclear power field high-end valve R & D and manufacturing. By then, the company's annual orders and output are expected to exceed two times the growth.
