Jiang Xiaoming, director of the National Center for Environmental Protection of Mercury Pollution Prevention and Control Engineering Technology Center, Ren Guanping, secretary general of Chinese Society of Environmental Sciences, and leaders of Yancheng Environmental Science and Technology City delivered speeches respectively for a day and a half. The seminar revolved around technologies related to mercury pollution prevention and control, Resource-based and safe disposal technology, mercury pollution monitoring technology and equipment, mercury pollution prevention and control policies and management issues in-depth exchange and discussion. The issue of prevention and control of mercury pollution is not only a domestic issue, but also a common international concern for joint cooperation. Although China has made a good start in the prevention and control of mercury pollution, overall, control and reduction of mercury pollution still face many problems and challenges. The convening of this meeting is of great significance to promoting the implementation of the mercury convention and the development of mercury pollution prevention and control. Through this meeting, the state of mercury pollution prevention and control in our country and the follow-up development direction were systematically exchanged.
