· US preliminary ruling imposes anti-dumping duties on Chinese tires

January 21 - The US Department of Commerce initially ruled that Chinese tires are underpriced in the United States and will impose more tariffs on imported Chinese tires.
The US Department of Commerce made a preliminary ruling on Wednesday and decided to impose a maximum anti-dumping tariff of 87.99% on Chinese cars and light truck tires.
Prior to this, the US Department of Commerce had imposed a countervailing duty of up to 81.29% on the above products.
These tariffs will affect Shandong Yongsheng Rubber Group Co., Ltd., Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., Ltd.'s Cooper Tire (Kunshan) Co., Ltd., and Jiatong Tire's Fujian Jiatong Tire Co., Ltd., but Jiatong's products have lower tariffs. It is 19.17%.
The total amount of passenger and light truck tires imported from China in 2013 was approximately $2.1 billion.
The final ruling of the Ministry of Commerce will be made before June 11, and the US International Trade Commission (ITC) will make a ruling in July.
