Several methods for realizing solid-liquid separation of slurry in chemical beneficiation

In the process of chemical beneficiation , the solid-liquid separation of the slurry can ensure the quality of the pulp required for leaching to meet the requirements of subsequent operations.

Chemical beneficiation of solid-liquid separation, requires not only solid and liquid are separated, and in order to improve the quality of metals or recovery of solid product, the solid phase portion should also be thoroughly washed. There are three methods for solid-liquid separation depending on the driving force of the solid-liquid separation process:

1) Centrifugal separation method: Centrifugal separation method is to sediment or filter solid particles by means of centrifugal force. Commonly used equipments include hydrocyclones, centrifugal sedimentators and centrifugal filters.

2) Filtration method: The filtration method is a solid-liquid separation process realized by using a pressure difference on both sides of the filter. Commonly used equipment is various types of vacuum filters and filter presses. The solid-liquid separation by this method can obtain a clear liquid with high clarity. When washing is required, the filter cake can be re-pulped. Filter again.

3) Gravity sedimentation method: solid particles settle under gravity, and the density difference between the solid phase and the liquid phase causes stratification, and finally the liquid overflows from the top of the device, and the dense phase is discharged from the bottom. Commonly used equipment includes sedimentation tanks, various concentrators, fluidization towers, and classifiers. The sedimentation tank is intermittent and the rest are continuous operation equipment. The fluidization column and the classifier obtain a thin slurry for subsequent processing, and both the sedimentation tank and the concentrator can obtain a clear liquid. These devices can be used for both solid and liquid separation as well as for solid phase washing.

For the purpose of solid-liquid separation, the separation process in each of the above methods is often carried out multiple times.
