50,000 ceremonial supplies or road to the royal tomb found in Mexico’s ancient tunnel

According to foreign media reports, in 2003, archeologists discovered an ancient tunnel with a history of 1800 years in Teotihuacan, an ancient Mexican city. In this tunnel that may lead to the royal tombs, they found about 50,000 rituals. In an interview with the media, the Mexican archaeologist Sergio Gomez stated that they first used remote-controlled robots for excavation and that human researchers followed suit. This ancient track is approximately 30 miles (50 kilometers) northeast of Mexico City.

The ancient ruins of Teotihuacan have always been full of mystery because ancient residents did not leave any records. The ancient tunnel was discovered on the ground floor of the Temple of the Feather Snake. A large number of artifacts were found, including stone statues, jewelry and shells. There were as many as 50,000 items found in the ancient tunnels and 4,000 wooden items, in addition to a large number of obsidian blades and arrows. These items provided archeologists with important clues on how the ancient priests and rulers of Teotihuakan imagined the underworld.

Gmez worked for the Mexican National Institute of Anthropological History. Referring to the possibility of discovering the royal tombs, he said: “The only explanation given to the number of offerings we found was that this tunnel leads to the royal tomb. We have confirmed all the assumptions we made at the beginning of the study. Gemz pointed out that with the continued mining, more discoveries will be made in 2015.

Teotihuacan is one of the most visited ancient cities in Mexico. It houses a large number of giant pyramids, temples and ancient residences, which are decorated with a large number of exquisite murals. This ancient city reached its peak between 100 BC and 650 BC and its population once reached 200,000. During the pre-Columbian era, the Obsidian trade in Teotihuakan was very prosperous and helped the city gradually accumulate wealth. Obsidian is mainly used to make daggers and other weapons. As of the 14th century when the Aztecs took power in the Valley of Mexico, Teotihuacan had been abandoned for a long time. However, the ancient city of Teotihuacan remains an important destination for pilgrims and plays an important role in the religious field. In the Nahuatl language, Teotihuacan's name "Teotihuacan" means "God's Dwelling." Nahuatl is the language of the Aztecs and is still used in many parts of Mexico.

About 2,500 years after the founding of the Teotihuacan civilization, about 2100 years ago, the identity of Teotihuacan rulers remains a mystery. Archaeologists did not find written records of the rulers and found no mausoleums in stark contrast to other civilizations in the pre-Hispanic period.

In 2009, archaeologists started digging and finally found the tunnel entrance. The archaeologist Sergio Gomez stated in 2010 that the tomb of the ruler was in the tunnel. At that time, the ancients sealed up and buried a large number of funerary objects, including nearly 50,000 pieces of jade, other stones, shells and pottery, such as pottery beakers that had never been found in the area before.

When the Aztecs arrived here in the 14th century, the city was abandoned for a long time. The Aztecs named it Teotihuakan, which means "humanizing the land of God." Gomez said: “I think this tunnel is a core element and it is surrounded by the main elements of a ceremonial center. This is the most sacred place. We are likely to find the rulers of Teotihuakan in the central caverns. remains."
