·Hantai Tire Launches New Central R&D Center

On October 18, Hankook Tire Central R&D Center was officially opened for operation.

Tire World Network learned that the R&D center is located in Daejeon, South Korea, with a total investment of 266.4 billion won (about 1.584 billion yuan).

The total floor area is 96,328 square meters, including a 6-story R&D building and an 8-story residential building.

Among them, residential buildings are equipped with accommodations and welfare facilities for various employees such as fitness centers, medical clinics, cafes, and day care centers.

According to reports, this R&D center was designed by Foster Architects to incorporate the technology, philosophy and corporate culture of Hankook Tire.

The building received the LEED Gold Award from the US Green Building Council.

Han Thai Wheel said that this R&D center will become the core of its global R&D system.

The center is equipped with a variety of research and test equipment and introduces a driving simulation system and a Suspension Parameter Measurement Test Bench (SPMM) to assist with virtual testing and recording of digital test results.

Hankook has five R&D centers and seven factories around the world.

In China, the company has a regional headquarters, a research and development center and three production bases, located in Huai'an, Jiangsu, Jiaxing, Zhejiang, and Chongqing.

According to the plan, by 2020, the overall capacity of the Chinese plant will account for more than 40% of Hankook's global production capacity.

At present, Hankook Tire's brands operating in China include Hankook Hankook, Lu Oufeng Laufenn, and Aurora AuRoRa.
